Calling all Zululand Surfers

It is nearly Christmas, and time for the annual LIZZARD HURRICANE KZN SURFING CHAMPS 2018. This event is heralded as one of the most ‘fun’ family contests of the year. We see Moms and Dads, Grannies and Grandpas all surfing with their children. Anton Knoetze and his son Ben from Empangeni cannot wait for this fun contest! They're hoping to see more locals from their own beach break (Alkantstrand), as well as other KZN beaches, join them at this fun event. Pic by May Knoetze

Wealth of experience for local surfrider

Local King Cetshwayo surfer Ben Knoetze, (9) of Empangeni took part at the 2018 Sea Harvest Grommet Surfing Games in Port Elizabeth at the end of March. This was Ben's first national event and he flew the flag for our district proudly walking away with the Sportsmanship Award and scoring 850 points for his province as the sole competitor for King Cetshwayo District.

Cape Town Surfriders win the Nelson Mandela Bay Trophy for the seventh year in a row at the 2018 Sea Harvest South African Grommet Surfing Games in Port Elizabeth. Monday March 26th  – The Cape Town Surfriders Team posted a total score of 28312 points to win the coveted Nelson Mandela Bay Trophy at the 2018 Sea Harvest SA Grommet Games supported by Sport and Recreation South Africa at Pollock Beach in Port Elizabeth Sunday (March 25th).
